MANDEVILLE, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces an update on the project to widen U.S. Highway 190 from La. 22 to Lonesome Road in St. Tammany Parish, an $11.3 million capacity improvement project.

This week, drainage crews are working at two different locations of the project. One crew began at the northwest corner of US 190/Meadowbrook and is working westward (positioned in front of Firestone Tires). The second crew began at the outfall (the point of discharge) to Chinchuba Creek and is working westward (positioned in front of Pelican Village Shopping Center almost to Meadowbrook.)

Also, a road crew is installing base course for the new westbound roadway from Cherry Creek subdivision towards Lonesome Road.

The project is currently scheduled to wrap up in mid to late summer, barring further inclement weather or changes to the scope of work.

All planned construction activities are weather-dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction zone and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
