UPDATE: Lane closures for the I-10 improvement project – Calcasieu Parish
UPDATE: The I-10 westbound closure has been rescheduled for Friday, January 24, weather permitting. I-10 westbound be will reduced to two lanes 24/7 until the end of the project with the exception of the optional additional lane closures at night.
I-10 westbound will be reduced to one lane from 9:00 p.m. Thursday, January 23 to 5 a.m. Friday, January 24 to install temporary striping.

Update: Due to inclement weather, the I-10 westbound closure scheduled for today, January 22 will be postponed until further notice.
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces the following lane closures for I-10 between the LA 108 (Exit 23) and I-210 interchanges (Exit 25):
- I-10 westbound will be reduced to one lane from 11 p.m. Monday, January 20 to 5 a.m. Tuesday, January 21, and from 11 p.m. Tuesday, January 21 to 5 a.m. Wednesday, January 22. This will allow the contractor to install the necessary temporary striping.
- I-10 westbound will be reduced to two lanes 24/7 beginning Wednesday, January 22. Westbound will remain two lanes until the end of the project with the exception of the optional additional lane closures at night between 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.
The following closure will also occur to allow for detour construction:
- LA 108 eastbound and westbound interchange service roads will have intermittent shoulder closures from Monday, January 20 to Friday, January 24.
All closures are weather permitting.
Motorist should anticipate greater traffic impacts the first few days of the project as drivers adjust to the reduced lanes. A traffic advisory system will be implemented on I-10 and will provide real-time traffic information to motorist via message boards and flashing signs.
