UPDATE - REOPENED: I-220 Eastbound at LA 3 (Benton Road), Bossier Parish
UPDATE: All lanes of I-220 eastbound have been REOPENED.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that all lanes of I-220 eastbound between LA 3 (Benton Road) and LA 3105 (Airline Drive) in Bossier City are closed due to an incident that occurred early Friday morning (January 17, 2020) and the subsequent law enforcement investigation.
Bossier City Police are on scene conducting their investigation, requiring a closure of the eastbound lanes of the interstate in this area.
Motorists are strongly advised to avoid this area and use an alternate route. It is not clear at this time when the interstate will be reopened.
I-220 westbound is not affected and remains open at this time.
