LA 42 Widening and Improvements, Road Closure

Construction has begun for State Project H.002370, LA 42 Widening. The project consists of grading, drainage structures, subgrade treatment, drilled shaft foundations, traffic signalization, landscaping, asphalt concrete pavement, portland cement concrete pavement, and related work in Ascension Parish.
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that there will be road closure of LA 73 on Monday, January 20th from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm. LA 73, just north of LA 42, will be closed in both directions. Soundbound traffic will be detoured to LA 427 to US 61 to LA 42. Northbound traffic will be detoured through the same route, LA 42 to US 61 to LA 427. This closure is necessary in order to install an asphalt patch over the cross drain at this location. Work will be completed weather permitting. No vehicles will be able to pass.
