UPDATE: This project is now completed. Thank you for your patience.
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces that beginning Friday, January 17, construction will begin on a $414,700 project on I-10 Westbound from Exit 127 – Whiskey Bay to Mile Marker 125 in St. Martin/Iberville Parishes, for rehabilitation of the deck surface which was damaged by a vehicle fire in August, 2019.

The work is estimated to take place nightly on Fridays at 9:00 p.m. through Mondays 6:00 a.m., weather permitting.

There will be one-lane closures throughout the project and heavy delays are expected. The road will be open to regular traffic with a 13-foot maximum width restriction on oversized loads passing through the work zone.

Emergency vehicles will have access to this area.

The project will include milling 1 – ½ inches in depth and replace with a modified latex concrete pavement.

The detour route will consist of LA 415 (Lobdell Highway) to US 190 to I-49 back to I-10. However, I-10 will be open with one lane during construction hours.

The project is estimated for completion at the end of January 2020.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
