LA 44 Turn Lanes, Intermittent Lane Closures, Ascension Parish

Due to inclement weather, the below press release has been extended until January 10th.

Construction has begun for State Project H.009956 LA 44: Turn Lanes is in Ascension Parish for a length of 1.235 miles. The type of work is clearing and grubbing, grading, drainage structures, milling asphalt pavement, pavement patching, class II base course, lime treatment, portland cement concrete pavement, asphalt concrete pavement, drilled shaft foundations, traffic signalization, and related work at a cost of $3,501,304.95.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists of the following intermittent lane closures involiving the LA 44 corridor:
  • Intersection LA 44/LA 931/Germany Road: There will be intermittent lane closures beginning December 3, 2019 – January 10, 2020 while pave the roadway.
  • Intersection LA 44/LA 621: There will be intermittent lane closures beginning December 4, 2019 – December 28, 2019 while crews sawcut the roadway.


These closures will take place between the hours of 9:00 am and 3:00 pm. Flaggers and appropriate signage will be onsite in order to facilitate and direct traffic. No oversized loads greater than 10’ wide will be allowed through the construction zone during these intermittent lane closures.
