Update: Emergency Closure, US 190 & LA 1 South, Pointe Coupee & West Baton Rouge Parishes

Update: Due to unforeseen circumstances, the wideload has decided to make an overnight stay in Erwinville. They will continue the move on tomorrow, August 20th at 9:00 AM. They will continue along US 190 to LA 1 South.

US 190, in Pointe Coupee and West Baton Rouge Parishes and also LA 1 South in West Baton Rouge Parish, will have significant delays in both directions today from approximately 12:00 PM until. This is due to a wideload which is 23 feet wide travelling Eastbound on US 190 and then Southbound on LA 1. US 190 traffic will be stopped Westbound at the 4 mile bridge, in Pointe Coupee, and at the Railroad Overpass in Lobdell, to allow safe passage of the wideload.

State police will be escorting this load as it passes through these areas.
