DOTD to begin removing portable water-filled dams on LA 70

Baton Rouge – Today, the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announced that it will begin removing the portable water-filled dams along LA 70 in Assumption Parish on Thursday, June 27. Approximately 6,000 feet of the dams were placed along LA 70 between LA 996 and LA 69 on May 24 due to flooding. Removal of the dams is expected to be complete by Friday, June 28.

During the removal process, intermittent lane closures will be necessary. However, at least one lane of travel will be open at all times. DOTD staff and local law enforcement will be at the location to assist with traffic control.
