NEW ORLEANS - Today, the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announced that the extended single-lane closure for I-10 eastbound on the High Rise in New Orleans will be extended to approximately 3:00 p.m. on Monday, June 24. Crews have been performing bridge rehabilitation requiring the lane closure, and the lane was expected to be open by 5:00 a.m. on June 24. The last of the repairs is currently being completed, and the epoxy used to protect and strengthen the bridge structure requires 24 hours to cure before traffic can use it. The left lane remains closed from Louisa St. to Chef Hwy.

The rehabilitation to the bridge consists of permanent repairs after a fire under the bridge damaged three girders in November 2017. Temporary supports were put into place after the fire in order to allow traffic to continue to pass. The permanent repairs are expected to be complete in summer 2019.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
