Evening lane closures on Sunshine Bridge on June 20

BATON ROUGE – Today the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announced that the Sunshine Bridge will have short-term intermittent closures on Thursday, June 20, between 8 p.m. and 12 a.m. Only one direction of traffic will be briefly closed at a time. The closures are necessary for DOTD to conduct further inspections of the bridge following a tanker collision on June 16. While the fender system prevented any structural damage to the bridge, DOTD will be making more in-depth inspections Thursday.
