S.P. H.002672: Jackson (La 1208-3) @Horseshoe Roundabout

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) advises the public that on Tuesday, June 4th, 2019 at 9:00 AM, weather permitting, LA 488 (Twin Bridges Road) will be closed at the intersection of LA 1208-3 (Jackson Street) in Alexandria, LA. The closure is needed to allow a water line to be relocated underneath Twin Bridges Road. Twin Bridges Road will be reopened to traffic on Monday, June 10th, 2019.

Permit/Detour section

LA 488 Westbound Detour


Traffic from Jackson Street, Lodi Street, and Horseshoe Drive will be detoured onto LA 1208-3 (Jackson Street). Traffic will then take a left onto US 71 Northbound (MacArthur Drive) followed by another left onto LA 28 Westbound. Traffic will then be detoured left onto LA 1243 Southbound (McKeithen Drive) and continue on to LA 488 (Twin Bridges Road).

LA 488 Eastbound Detour

Traffic from LA 488 (Twin Bridges Road) will be detoured onto LA 1243 Northbound (McKeithen Drive). Traffic will then turn right onto LA 28 Eastbound and then right onto US 71 Southbound (MacArthur Drive). Traffic will then turn right onto LA 1208-3 (Jackson Street).

All construction activity is weather dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. DOTD appreciates the motoring public’s patience and reminds drivers to please exercise caution when traveling through work zone areas and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
