LANE CLOSURE: I-20 eastbound in Ouachita Parish

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that eastbound lanes on I-20 at the Stella Mill Street exit in Ouachita Parish were partially closed overnight (Thursday, May 2, 2019) but scheduled to be reopened at 7:00 a.m. as part of an ongoing bridge rehabilitation project.

However, the contractor encountered mechanical issues with a piece of equipment used to prepare the road for overlay. There was also a delay in pouring concrete due to rain.

The contractor is facing a monetary penalty for lane closures after 7:00 a.m., and is expected to have all lanes reopened by 11:00 a.m. today, Friday, May 3, 2019.

DOTD apologizes for the inconvenience, and appreciates your patience as we work with the contractor to ensure all lanes are reopened as quickly as possible.

Safety Reminder:

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.

Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking or biking near an active work zone.
