DOTD announces an upcoming bridge closure on LA 104 (L’Anse Bleu Road) at Bayou Des Cannes Bridge in Evangeline Parish, SPN H.002101.6

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces that beginning Monday, May 20, construction will begin on a $2.2 million project for the removal and replacement of the existing bridge on LA 104 (L’Anse Bleu Road) at the Bayou Des Cannes Bridge (3.0 miles east of the LA 104 & LA 1161 intersection and 1.7 miles west of the LA 104 & LA 29 intersection) in Evangeline Parish.
No traffic will be allowed during this closure. Emergency vehicles will have access to the area during construction but will not be able to cross the bridge during this road closure.
The detour for eastbound traffic will consist of LA 1161 (Pine Point Road) eastbound to LA 29 (S. Chataignier Road).
The detour for westbound traffic will consist of LA 29 (S. Chataignier Road) then westbound on LA 1161 (Pine Point Road).
Detour signs will be posted accordingly.
The project is estimated for completion in February 2020.
