(03/27/19): The road has been reopened. Note that minor work is still occurring at this location so be aware of the construction workers and flaggers as they finish this area.

There will be various lane closures along the LA 144 from LA 151 to the Jackson Parish Line beginning Monday, February 11, 2019. Traffic will be maintained through the use of flaggers to assist with travel through this area during daylight working hours. All lanes will be open during non-working hours and overnight.

Beginning Monday, February 18, 2019, LA 144 will be closed approximately 1.4 miles west of the intersection at LA 144 and LA 151. The purpose of this road closure is to allow contractors to replace drainage structures beneath the roadway. The extent of this road closure is anticipated to be 12 days.

Anticipated project completion is Friday, April 5.

Permit / Detour section:
Restrictions: No restrictions noted. The roadway will be closed to through traffic.
Detour: The detour route around this road closure will be accessed as follows:

EASTBOUND: Traffic will head west on LA 144 approximately 5.2 miles from the Jackson Parish Line. Traffic will then turn east on LA 34 and travel approximately 3.5 miles, then head east on LA 546 for approximately 2.0 miles, then head north on LA 151 approximatley 5.5 miles to be rerouted back to LA 144.

WESTBOUND: Traffic will head south on LA 151 approximately 5.5 miles until they reach LA 546. Traffic will then turn west onto LA 546 approximatley 2.0 miles, then head east onto LA 34 for approximatly 3.5 miles, then head east onto LA 144 approximatley 5.2 miles to be rerouted back to LA 144 at the Jackson Parish LIne.
