MANSURA, La. – Today, the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announced that it will conduct an open-house style public meeting to provide information on the upcoming La. 1 widening project, from Town of Mansura to the City of Marksville, located in Avoyelles Parish.

The meeting will be held Thursday, October 17, from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at the Cochon de Lait Center, located at 1832 Leglise Street in Mansura.

Representatives from DOTD and the local governments will be in attendance to provide information and answer questions on the project. Attendees will also have the opportunity to receive information on other projects in Avoyelles Parish.

The La. 1 widening project is a $16.4 million project that will widen approximately 3.8 miles of La. 1 from two to five lanes, which include two lanes in each direction and a continuous center turn lane.
