LA 1218; US 171 to LA 191

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD), advises that, weather permitting, on Thursday, October 17, 2013 road construction work will begin on LA 1218 from US 171 to LA 191.  This 2.81 mile long road construction project will receive drainage structures, cold planing asphaltic concrete pavement, pavement patching, superpave asphaltic concrete pavement, and related work.  The project was awarded to the low bidder, Madden Contracting Co., Inc., in the amount of $1,000,272.40.

Permit/Detour section

There will be no restrictions for passenger vehicles and a 12’ wide lane width restriction for all oversize vehicles.  The roadway will be reduced to one lane during construction.  The roadway will be open to traffic at all times.
