Dept. of Transportation and Development Announces Bid Results for Statewide Projects

BATON ROUGE – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announced today that 15 projects around the state were let on December 12, 2018. Eleven contractors presented apparent low bids totaling $35.6 million.

“We’re ending 2018 on a positive note with an infrastructure investment of nearly $36 million,” said DOTD Secretary Shawn D. Wilson, Ph.D. “As we continue to seek innovative funding methods, we’re optimistic that the years ahead will be even better for our state’s citizens and visitors as they travel. We owe it to everybody to have an enviable transportation system, and we’re making progress little by little despite our funding setbacks.”

The projects and their apparent low bids are as follows:

Bridge Replacement and Repair:

  • Replacement of bridges on Peterson Road in West Feliciana Parish: $2,470,405.93
  • Replacement of bridges on Rogers Field Road and Mounce Road in Desoto Parish: $1,216,615.00
  • Overpass repair on I-10 at U.S. 165 in Jefferson Davis Parish: $470,355.00
  • Miscellaneous bridge repairs on I-20 and I-49 in Bienville, Caddo, and Webster parishes: $1,366,805.00
Pavement/ Overlay:
  • Milling, paving, overlay, and weigh-in-motion system repair on I-20 between Mound and Delta Scales in Madison Parish: $3,975,838.00
  • Milling, patching, and overlay on LA 3112 between I-10 service road and U.S. 90 in Calcasieu Parish: $485,942.15
  • Milling, patching, and overlay of I-12 between LA 59 and Bayou Lacombe in St. Tammany Parish: $7,493,893.93
  • Milling, patching, overlay, and drainage on LA 772 and LA 773 in Lasalle Parish: $1,785,223.20
  • Patching, milling, overlay, drainage, and sidewalk repair on LA 73 between Highland Road and U.S.61 in East Baton Rouge Parish: $1,953,660.08
  • Milling, patching, overlay, and drainage on Veterans Memorial Highway westbound between Severn Avenue and Clearview Parkway in Jefferson Parish: $2,884,167.50
Congestion Mitigation and Safety:

  • J-turn construction on U.S. 61 at Thomas Road in East Baton Rouge Parish: $728,003.86
Other:

  • Multi-use path construction and landscaping in East Baton Rouge Parish: $1,897,928.76
  • Upgrades to signs and sign structures along I-10 from Carrollton Avenue to Lafitte Street in Orleans Parish: $8,294,737.51
  • Selective demolition and renovation of Toomey Nature Walk in Calcasieu Parish: $282,169.00
  • Installation of emergency generator at LA 1 Customer Service Center in Lafourche Parish: $287,769.90
Construction projects are prioritized by road/bridge condition, urgency of improvements, type/volume of traffic, crash records, unforeseeable emergencies that caused damage, and several other factors.
