UPDATE: The traffic swap will take place from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Thank you for your patience.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces that on Sunday, November 18, there will be a traffic swap on LA 347 in the northbound and southbound directions from its current location on the detour route to the newly constructed concrete roundabouts in St. Martin Parish, resulting in traffic being in near complete configuration.

Both roundabout circles will be fully opened.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.

This work is related to the FASTLANE I-10 widening project (State Project Number H.003014). This $54.7 million project will involve pavement replacement within the existing lanes in each direction for 2.7 miles along I-10 from LA 347 to the base of the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge. An additional lane will be added in the westbound direction.

With the help of the FASTLANE grant, this is the second of three projects to reconstruct and widen the I-10 corridor from I-49 to the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge.

The project began in July 2017 and is estimated for completion in 2020.
