The Houma Navigation Canal Bridge crossing the Houma Navigation Canal on LA 661 in Houma, LA is closed to vehicular traffic until further notice due to a vessel collision which damaged a critical mechanical component needed for the proper operation of the bridge. The bridge is currently in the open to marine position and will remain closed to vehicular traffic until the repairs can be made.
Alternate routes available around the Houma Navigation Canal bridge closure(s) are as follows:
LA 661 (South Van Ave.) to LA 57 (Grand Caillou Road) to LA 3040 (Tunnel Blvd.) to U.S. 90 (Barrow St.) to LA 315.
LA 661 (South Van Ave.) to LA 24 (Twin Span Bridge) to U.S. 90 (Barrow St.) to LA 315.
