The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) advises that, weather permitting, on Monday, October 7, 2013 road construction work will begin on LA 118 from Mount Carmel to Peason Ridge Artillery Road.  This 8.6 mile long road construction project will receive drainage structures, cold planing asphaltic concrete pavement, pavement patching, lime treatment of subgrade, in-place cement treated base course, superpave asphaltic concrete pavement, and related work. 

The project was awarded to the low bidder, Diamond B Construction Co. LLC, in the amount of $4,201,096.65.

Permit/Detour section

There will be no restrictions for passenger vehicles and a 12’ wide lane width restriction for all oversize vehicles.  The roadway will be reduced to one lane during construction and unpaved roadway conditions will exist during base course construction.  The roadway will be open to traffic at all times.
