PROJECT UPDATE: I-20 from Texas state line to Monkhouse Dr. in Caddo Parish
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that lane closures eastbound and westbound on I-20 near the Texas state line in Caddo Parish will continue as part of the $17.2 million overlay project that will significantly improve the traveling experience on this portion of interstate.
The current lane closures are to widen the shoulders of a bridge that is within the limits of the project. Following this widening phase, major reconstruction of the roadway in this area will begin, and lane closures will remain in place throughout the duration of the project as the contractor moves eastward toward Monkhouse Drive.
The entire project is expected to be complete in Fall 2019, with progress dependent on weather conditions.
DOTD is reminding motorists that traffic congestion is to be expected in - and approaching - the construction zone, especially during peak times of day. An alternate route of US 80 has been established.
