Jefferson Parish, La. - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that beginning on August 13 there will be lane closures associated with the start of construction on the Earhart Expressway exit ramp.
This $640,000 project will remove and replace damaged concrete girders on the westbound exit ramp of Earhart Expressway (LA 3139) to southbound Clearview Parkway (LA 3152). The closures are needed in order to remove the existing damaged girders and bridge deck, install new girders, and pour a new bridge deck.
Southbound Clearview Parkway between US 61 (Airline Highway) and LA 3139 (Earhart Expressway) in Metairie will have single and double lane closures, with one lane remaining open.
The upcoming closures associated with this project are:
• Aug. 13-16, 9 p.m. – 4 a.m.
• Aug. 17, 9 p.m. and ending 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 18
This closure will allow vehicles 11-feet wide or smaller to pass through the construction zone. The road is open for regular traffic and no detours are needed, though motorists should expect some delays.
The project is estimated to be completed December 2018, weather dependent.
