ST. CHARLES PARISH, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces lane closures for a $400,000 project to complete concrete work on the Hale Boggs (Luling) Bridge, from LA 48 to LA 18. Beginning Sunday, June 10, 2018, at 8 a.m., the right southbound lane will have a continuous lane closure with 14-foot width restrictions affecting the left southbound lane, for approximately one week.

Additionally, I-310 northbound is currently scheduled to experience a continuous right lane closure and a 14-foot width restriction in the left lane for approximately two weeks, beginning Monday, July 9.

The 14-foot width restriction is for oversized loads and there will not be room for loads wider than 14 feet to travel across the bridge.

The contractor is C.E.C., Inc. The project is estimated for completion in its entirety in August 2018.

All construction activity is weather dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. DOTD appreciates the motoring public’s patience and reminds drivers to please exercise caution when traveling through work zone areas and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking or biking near an active work zone.
