LA 42 Widening and Improvements, Road Closure
Construction has begun for State Project H.002370, LA 42 Widening. The project consists of grading, drainage structures, subgrade treatment, drilled shaft foundations, traffic signalization, landscaping, asphalt concrete pavement, portland cement concrete pavement, and related work in Ascension Parish.
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that there will be road closure of LA 44 @ LA 42 from Friday - Sunday, May 18th 8:00 pm to May 20th 6:00 pm with a detour in place. Work in this area consists of paving the tie-in to existing LA 44 into new LA 44. LA 44 will be closed in both directions for 1500 feet south of LA 42 only allowing local traffic. Traffic will be detoured to AP 929 and Parker Rd. Work will be completed weather permitting. No permit or oversize loads along with emergency vehicles will be able to pass.
