DOTD announces closure of I-10 at High Rise for emergency removal of sign truss

NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces that eastbound and westbound Interstate 10 at the High Rise Bridge will be closed on Thursday, April 26 from 10:00 p.m. to Friday, April 27 at 5:00 a.m., for emergency removal of a damaged overhead sign truss.

The suggested alternate routes are U.S. 90/Chef Menteur Highway in the westbound direction, and Louisa Street North to U.S 90/Chef Menteur Highway in the eastbound direction.

All activity is weather dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. DOTD appreciates the motoring public’s patience and reminds drivers to please exercise caution when traveling through work zone areas and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking or biking near the active work zone.
