Lafayette Parish – Louisiana Avenue southbound under I-10 – Road Closure

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces that Louisiana Avenue southbound under I-10, between the on and off ramps of Louisiana Avenue southbound, will be closed the night of Tuesday, April 24, due to construction on the overpass.
This work is scheduled to take place from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., weather permitting.
The detour will be I-10 westbound to I-49 to I-10 eastbound to the eastbound off ramp at Louisiana Avenue.
The $124.7 million I-10 widening project will involve widening a 7.11-mile section from I-49 to Breaux Bridge (State Project Number H.003003). The project will include pavement replacement within the existing lanes and the construction of one additional lane in each direction along I-10 from I-49 to La 328 (Breaux Bridge).
The project began in May 2017 and is estimated for completion in fall 2019.
