The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces that Louisiana Avenue northbound under I-10, between the on and off ramps of Louisiana Avenue northbound, will be closed Monday, March 26 until Thursday, March 29, due to construction of the overpass.

This work is scheduled to take place daily from 4:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., weather permitting.

The detour will be I-10 eastbound to LA 328 (Rees Street) to I-10 westbound to Louisiana Avenue northbound.

The $124.7 million I-10 widening project will involve widening a 7.11-mile section from I-49 to Breaux Bridge (State Project Number H.003003). The project will include pavement replacement within the existing lanes and the construction of one additional lane in each direction along I-10 from I-49 to La 328 (Breaux Bridge).

The project began in May 2017 and is estimated for completion in fall 2019.
