Emergency Road Closure Due to Flooding/High Water
LA 542; 0.8 mi. SW of LA 811 and 1.9 mi. NE of LA 813-3 near Jonesboro
Jackson Parish
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD), advises the public effective immediately that LA 542, at 0.8 miles SW of LA 811 or 1.9 miles NE of LA 813-3 near Jonesboro, will be closed to through traffic until further notice due to Flooding/High Water. This Road Closure will remain in effect at this location until the cross drain pipe can be replaced.

No detours are available at this time.
During unfavorable weather conditions, motorists should drive using the following safety tips:
• Drive slowly and carefully.
• Avoid driving into standing or running water.
• Avoid driving while distracted.
• Avoid using cruise control when visibility is low or road surfaces are wet.
• Always allow for extra driving time.
• Reduce speeds when visibility is low.
• Make sure there is plenty of room between vehicles.
• Avoid using highway overpasses as tornado shelters.
