DOTD announces that the intersection of LA 31 (Main Highway) and LA 92 (Smede Highway) in St. Martin Parish will be converted to an ALL WAY Stop

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces that beginning Monday, February 19, at 7:00 a.m., in preparation for the upcoming construction of a new roundabout at the intersection of LA 31 (Main Hwy) and LA 92 (Smede Hwy) in St. Martin Parish, the signalized intersection will be converted to an ALL WAY Stop.
Message boards notifying the public will be installed today, February 12, 2018.
This work is related to $3.07 million project to construct a roundabout at the intersection of LA 31 and LA 92, in St. Martin Parish. Roundabouts are one-way, circular intersections designed to improve safety and efficiency for motorists, bicyclists and pedestrians. Roundabouts reduce crashes by decreasing stop-and-go traffic. The project is estimated for completion in October, 2018.
