Broadway Street closures announced as Paths to Progress resurfaces roadway

To facilitate roadway resurfacing, the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Developmentā€™s (DOTD) Paths to Progress announces a full closure of Broadway Street from Fontainebleau Drive to the south end of St. Charles Avenue.

Monday morning, crews will begin a full closure of the southbound lane of Broadway, from Fontainebleau to St. Charles, beginning at 7 a.m. The closure will switch to the northbound lane once the paving crews reach St. Charles and begin paving to Fontainebleau. The alternating closures will be in effect from Monday, July 22, through Friday, July 26, from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

The road closure is to accommodate asphalt overlay procedures. Roadway segments will reopen to cross street traffic as construction progresses. Every effort will be made to accommodate residents and businesses.

Paths to Progress appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.

Paths to Progress is a transportation improvement program to rehabilitate, restore and enhance more than 60 roadway segments in Orleans and Jefferson parishes. With a combined investment of over $90 million, Paths to Progress is a collaborative effort between the Federal Highway Administration, Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, New Orleans Regional Planning Commission and City of New Orleans.
