Update: Reopened: Southbound US 51B @ I-12, TANGIPAHOA PARISH

An emergency left lane closure on south bound US 51 Business just north of Interstate 12 is in effect due to a major water leak.
Tomorrow, Thursday November 30, at 7 am, Southbound US 51 Business under the I-12 overpass will be CLOSED to through traffic to make repairs.
The duration of the closure is not known at this time, but notification will be sent out once the work is complete and the roadway is opened.
A detour route for southbound US 51 Business is posted to detour motorist onto I-12 westbound to the I-12/I-55 interchange, take exit 38A to I-55 southbound, stay in the merge lane and continue to the I-12 east bound on ramp, then travel on I-12 east bound to US 51 Business (Exit 40).
Northbound US 51 Business will remain open.
