Construction has begun for State Project H.012354, Districts 02 and 61 Low Cost Safety Improvements. The project consists of making safety improvements including high friction surface treatment, signing, plastic pavement markings, and related work at selected curve locations along the following routes:

• LA 44, Ascension Parish
• LA 37, East Feliciana Parish
LA 411, Iberville Parish
• LA 18, St. James Parish
• LA 983, West Baton Rouge Parish
• LA 1, Jefferson and Lafourche Parishes

Work has begun along LA 411 and is expected to last approximately two weeks along this route, weather permitting. The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that there will be intermittent lane closures on LA 411 during construction. No oversized loads greater than 10’ wide will be allowed through the construction zone during lane closures. Permit loads should contact the DOTD permit office for an alternate route.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
