Julia Street (in Denham Springs), from River Road to the intersection of Range Avenue and Florida Avenue, will be under construction beginning on October 16, 2017. This work is expected to be completed on November 30, 2017. Please be prepared for intermittent delays and possible single lane closures (Eastbound and Westbound) between the hours of 7:00 am to 5:00 pm (Monday through Friday). These lane closures are necessary to allow crews to patch and overlay the existing travel lanes. This project will also widen Julia Street by two feet on the outside and reconstruct driveway connections.
The street will remain open for regular traffic but will be subject to temporary full closures for installation of cross drains.
Motorists may take Parish Route 1259 (Government/Capitol Street) or Sullivan Street as alternate routes to avoid lane closures during construction.
DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
