Lafayette and St. Martin Parish - I-10 Eastbound and Westbound from I-49 to LA 328 – Lane Closures

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces that on Wednesday, October 4 and Thursday, October 5, the eastbound left lane and shoulder of I-10, from I-49 to LA 328, will be closed for shoulder work.

The closure is estimated to take place nightly from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., weather permitting.

Additionally, on Thursday, October 5, the westbound left lane and shoulder of I-10, from I-49 to LA 328, will be closed for shoulder work.

The closure is estimated to take place from 8:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., weather permitting.

There are no restrictions for permit loads.

DOTD apologizes for any inconvenience to the traveling public and encourages motorists to lookout for crews and their equipment.

The $124.7 million I-10 widening project will involve widening a 7.11-mile section from I-49 to Breaux Bridge. The project will include pavement replacement within the existing lanes and the construction of one additional lane in each direction along I-10 from I-49 to La 328 (Breaux Bridge).

The project began in May 2017 and is estimated for completion in fall 2019.
