Huey P. Long Bridge Traffic Impacts
Week of Wednesday 19 June 2013 through Sunday 23 June 2013
1. Alternating lane closures east and westbank bound 8:00 P.M. to 5:00 A.M. Wednesday 19 June 2013 through Friday 21 June 2013. Installing bicycle grates on the drainage scuppers and plates on shoulders at finger joints east and westbound. Traffic will be able to go over the bridge during the work.
2. Fulll Closure Westbank Bound 10:00 P.M. to 5:00 A.M. (7 hours) Friday 21 June 2013 through Saturday Morning 22 June 2013 at 5:00 A.M. Adjusting bridge finger plate joints
3. Full Clousre Eastbank Bound 10:00 P.M. to 5:00 A.M. (7 hours) Saturday 21 June 2013 through Sunday Morning 22 June 2013 at 5:00 A.M. Adjusting bridge finger plate joints. Should weather prevent the work on either Friday or Saturday it will take place on Friday the 28th and Saturday the 29th at the same times.
4. Left lane closure westbound 24/7 until 30 June 2013. Two complete 11 foot lanes will be will be available to traffic as will the right shoulder for emergency stops. The lane can and will be reopened for emergencies. The eastbound bridge will be completely open. Should the work be completed sooner than expected the lane restriction will be removed
Emergency vehicles will be allowed through for all full closures
Week of 24 June 2013 through Sunday 30 June 2013
· Main Bridge
1. Alternating lane closures east and westbank bound 8:00 P.M. to 5:00 A.M. Monday 24 June 2013 through Saturday 29 June 2013 at 5:00 A.M. Installing bicycle grates on the drainage scuppers and plates on shoulders at finger joints east and westbound. Traffic will be able to go over the bridge during the work.
2. Left lane closure westbound 24/7 until 30 June 2013. Two complete 11 foot lanes will be will be available to traffic as will the right shoulder for emergency stops. The lane can and will be reopened for emergencies. The eastbound bridge will be completely open. Should the work be completed sooner than expected the lane restriction will be removed.
· Clearview Parkway North and South Bound
1. Alternating lane closures north and south bound Clearview from Mounes to Jefferson Highway – 9:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. – Monday 24 June 2013 Through Saturday 29 June 2013. Roadway Panel and sidewalk repair and punch lisnt.
· West Bank LA-18 ad US 90
1. Alternating lane closures for roadway striping touchup and reflector replacement, Tuesday 25 June 2013 9:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M.
· East Bank – Eastbank Bound
1. Wednesday 26 June 2013 9:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. – removal of reflectors from right shoulder at the Jefferson Highway off ramp.
Week of Monday 01 July through Sunday 07 July 2013
· Main Bridge
1. Full closure westbound 10:00 P.M. to 1:30 A.M. and eastbound 1:30 A.M. to 5:00 A.M. (7 hours each night) Monday 01 July 2013 through Wednesday 03 July 2013 at 5:00 A.M. Installing final overhead truss signs east and westbound. Emergency Vehicles will be allowed through
There will be no closures from Wednesday Morning 03 July 2013 at 5:00 A.M through Monday 08 June 2013.
Please note that assuming weather does not interfere with the work once the signs are in place on July 03 2013 we do not further closures of the main bridge unless it is to repair work.
