LA 834 in Morehouse Parish, Bridge Closure

Update: Effective immediately, the LA 834 bridge over Overflow Creek is now open to all traffic. We appreciate the travelling public's patience and cooperation during the construction of this project.
Effective immediately, LA 834 is closed at the bridge over Overflow Creek approximately 5 miles west of the LA 834/US 165 intersection in Morehouse Parish. The existing bridge has been closed to traffic since the extensive flooding experienced back in March of 2016. Currently, a contractor has started work to replace the old bridge structure with a new bridge structure. The project is expected to take approximately 8 months to complete, weather permitting.

The detour route around this road closure can be accessed using US 165, LA 140, LA 591, and LA 590.
