Open House Public Meeting for I-10 in Lake Charles, Calcasieu Parish (H.003931)

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) will conduct an open-house public meeting for:
State Project No. H.003931
Federal Aid Project No. BR-10-1(212)29
Calcasieu River Bridge (HBI),
I-10 from I-10/I-210 West End to I-10/I-210 East End
Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana
The meeting will be held at the following place and time:

The proposed project includes widening and infrastructure improvements to I-10 between the I-210 interchanges, including the Calcasieu River Bridge. The purpose of the proposed project is to improve system connectivity, traffic congestion, roadway and bridge deficiencies, and safety issues.
The purpose of the public meeting is to provide an overview of the project and obtain public comment on the proposed preliminary alternatives, alternatives screening process, and recommended reasonable alternatives, which will be evaluated in more detail within the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS). The Section 106 process will occur along with the preparation of the EIS. Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act requires Federal agencies to consider the effects of Federally funded projects on historic properties. The Calcasieu River Bridge is eligible for the National Register of Historic Places and will be evaluated in accordance with the Programmatic Agreement for historic bridges.
The meeting will be an open-house format using a continuous repeating slide presentation. Persons interested in the proposed project are invited to participate, at their convenience, between 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. to review the study materials and comment on the information presented. All comments received during the public meeting and written comments post-marked within ten (10) calendar days of the meeting will become part of the official public meeting record. If you are unable to attend the meeting, you may mail your comments to the address listed below:
