BROUSSARD, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces that beginning Wednesday, July 12, through Friday, July 14, the middle section of the U.S. 90 at Albertson Parkway/St. Nazaire intersection will be closed to motorists due to road and bridge construction.

Through traffic traveling on U.S. 90 in the east and westbound directions, as well as eastbound traffic on Albertson Parkway, will be permitted. Westbound traffic on St. Nazaire will be detoured to La. 96.

This work is estimated to take place between 8 p.m. until 6 a.m., weather permitting.

Emergency vehicles will not have access to the area.

DOTD apologizes for any inconvenience to the traveling public and encourages motorists to lookout for crews and their equipment.

As part of the Geaux South program, current work underway is related to the $57.1 million design-build project that involves widening U.S 90 to six-lanes from Albertson Parkway to north of the Ambassador Caffery intersection. The project will also construct an overpass along U.S. 90 above Albertson Parkway, a new railroad overpass and modify the adjacent frontage roads. Work on the project is slated for completion in summer 2018.
