BREAUX BRIDGE, LA - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces that beginning Monday, July 17 until Monday, July 24, LA 328 (Rees Street) at I-10, in Breaux Bridge, will be closed due to construction work.
The closure is estimated to take place nightly from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., weather permitting.
There are no restrictions for permit loads.
The detour route for south bound traffic will be I-10 west to Louisiana Avenue then back to I-10 east to LA 328 to continue south.
The detour route for north bound traffic will be I-10 east to LA 347 then back to I-10 west to LA 328 to continue north.
DOTD apologizes for any inconvenience to the traveling public and encourages motorists to lookout for crews and their equipment.
The $124.7 million I-10 widening project will involve widening a 7.11-mile section from I-49 to Breaux Bridge. The project will include pavement replacement within the existing lanes and the construction of one additional lane in each direction along I-10 from I-49 to La 328 (Breaux Bridge).
The project began in May 2017 and is estimated for completion in fall 2019.
