This closure has been extended until Monday, July 31, 2017, and now includes the westbound left lane of I-10, between LA 328 (Rees Street) and I-49.
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces that beginning Wednesday, July 5, until Monday, July 10, the eastbound left lane of I-10, between LA 328 (Rees Street) and I-49, will be closed for the installation of concrete barriers.
The closure is estimated to take place nightly from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., weather permitting.
There are no restrictions for permit loads.
The $124.7 million I-10 widening project will involve widening a 7.11-mile section from I-49 to Breaux Bridge. The project will include pavement replacement within the existing lanes and the construction of one additional lane in each direction along I-10 from I-49 to La 328 (Breaux Bridge).
The project began in May 2017 and is estimated for completion in fall 2019.
DOTD apologizes for any inconvenience to the traveling public and encourages motorists to lookout for crews and their equipment.
