Shadow Bluff Drive is NOW OPEN!!!
LAFAYETTE, La. - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, in conjunction with Lafayette Consolidated Government, announces that beginning Thursday, June 22, Shadow Bluff Drive will be closed to thru traffic to allow crews to conduct bridge construction.
This closure is estimated to take place for approximately eight months. The detour for this closure includes Louisiana Avenue to West Pont Des Mouton Road.
DOTD apologizes for any inconvenience to the traveling public and encourages motorists to lookout for crews and their equipment.
This work is related to the $124.7 million I-10 widening project that will involve widening a 7.11-mile section from I-49 to Breaux Bridge. The project will include pavement replacement within the existing lanes and the construction of one additional lane in each direction along I-10 from I-49 to La 328 (Breaux Bridge).
The project began in May 2017 and is estimated for completion in fall 2019.
