LAFAYETTE, LA - The Louisiana Department of Transporation and Development (DOTD), along with Lafayette Consolidated Government, announce that beginning Monday, May 8, the water level will be lowered in the detention pond located along Camellia Boulevard near Cornelius Drive in order to allow drainage work to continue for the Verot School Road widening project.

Pumps will remain on site to maintain the needed elevation. As a result, certain areas around the detention pond may have limited access.

This work is estimated to take place for approximately three to four weeks. Pumps will remain on site to maintain the needed elevation.

DOTD apologizes for any inconvenience to the public.

The project will reconstruct a 3.19 mile section of LA 339 (Verot School Road) from Vincent Road to Pinhook Road and widen the mostly two-lane road to four lanes with a median. Work began in November 2015 and is estimated for completion February 2018.
