I-59 (I-12 - Mississippi State Line), St. Tammany Parish, Lane Closure

There will be alternating lane closures of the right (outside) or the left (inside) lanes of the northbound and southbound lanes on I-59 north of the West Pearl River (near mile post 6.0), to the Mississippi state line (mile post 11.8), from Monday morning, May 20, 2013, at 6:00 AM through Saturday night, May 25, 2013, while crews remove and replace asphalt on the shoulders, remove and replace the guard rails at the bridges weather permitting.  One lane on I-59 will be open at all times.

 

There will be alternating lane closures of the right (outside) or the left (inside) lanes of the northbound and southbound lanes on I-59 between the I-59 / I-10 / I-12 interchange (mile post 0.0) to the Mississippi state line (near mile post 11.9), from Monday morning, May 20, 2013, at 6:00 AM through Saturday night, May 25, 2013.  This will be a moving lane closure operation to allow crews to remove and replace striping weather permitting.  One lane on I-59 will be open at all times.

 

Permit/Detour Section

By law, oversize loads are not allowed to travel at night.  Emergency vehicles will have access.

 

Motorists traveling Northbound may take I-10 to I-12 Westbound and exit in Slidell at US 11 (exit 83), travel North on US 11 to LA 41, travel North on LA 41 to LA 21, continue North on LA 21 to Bogalusa, take LA 10 East to MS 26, continue East on MS 26 to I-59 in Poplarville.

 

Motorists traveling Southbound on I-59 from Mississippi into Louisiana may exit I-59 in Poplarville (exit 29) to MS 26, travel West on MS 26 to LA 10, continue West on LA 10 to Bogalusa, then take LA 21 South to LA 41, continue South on LA 41 to US 11, take US 11 South to I-12 Eastbound, travel East on I-12 to the I-10/I-12/I-59 interchange.
