La. 28 West, Rapides Parish, Road Closure
Tuesday, May 07, 2013 at 8:01:00 AM

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, (LA DOTD), advises the public that beginning on Thursday, May 9, 2013, starting at 9:00AM and lasting for several months, westbound traffic will be reduced to one lane beginning at the LA 121/LA 28 W Caution Light. This lane reduction is necessary to allow the contractor on this project to install the final layer of asphaltic concrete on the newly constructed westbound roadway.

Permit/Detour section

Beginning on the east side of St. Claire Road, eastbound traffic will be diverted around the proposed bridge location and onto the westbound roadway to allow the contractor to complete the construction of the bridge in the eastbound lane. Also, on Thursday, May 9, 2013 starting at 9:00AM, eastbound and westbound traffic will be diverted to follow the final road configuration from the Vernon Parish line to the east side of St. Claire Road. There will be no width restrictions as a result of these temporary closures.

Safety Reminder

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
