LAFAYETTE, La. -- The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announced today that Digby Avenue, in Lafayette Parish, is now open to traffic. Digby Avenue was closed for two months to allow crews to install new drainage structures.

The work being performed during this closure was related to the first phase of a project to reconstruct the existing lanes of La. 339 (Verot School Road). This $12 million project will involve installing drainage pipe and clearing land along the 3.2-mile road in preparation for construction. Work on the project began September 2011 and is estimated for completion in summer 2014.

DOTD regrets any inconvenience this necessary work may have caused and appreciates your patience.
