DOTD to host public meetings in West Monroe and Monroe concerning Louisville Bridge closure

 

WHAT: DOTD will host two public meetings regarding the closure of the Louisville Bridge due to a bearing replacement project.

 

WHEN: Monday, April 29, from 5:30 p.m. until 7 p.m.

WHERE: West Monroe Convention Center, 901 Ridge Avenue, West Monroe, LA

 

WHEN: Tuesday, April 30, from 5:30 p.m. until 7 p.m.

WHERE: Monroe City Hall Council Chambers, 400 Lea Joyner, Monroe, LA

 

WHO: DOTD representatives from will be present to provide information regarding the project and answer questions.

 

MORE INFO: The first closure will begin June 1 and will remain in effect approximately four weeks.  The bridge will then reopen to traffic until the second closure begins on July 10.  This closure will also last approximately four weeks.  In an effort to minimize the length of the closures and reduce impacts to motorists, crews will be working around the clock to replace the bridge bearings.

 

The two meetings will allow the public to learn more about the project and to sign-up to receive periodic e-mail updates on the project’s progression.
