NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces the Judge Seeber (Claiborne Avenue) Bridge will be in the raised position and closed to all vehicular traffic, nightly, beginning Wed. December 14 until Tues. December 20, from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. The bridge will be closed daily (in the down position) to all marine traffic, from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The closure is necessary to set up a motor replacement in the far bridge tower, which is scheduled for next week.

Motorists may detour via the St. Claude or Florida Avenue bridges.

All construction activity is weather dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. DOTD appreciates the motoring public’s patience and reminds drivers to please exercise caution when traveling through work zone areas and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking or biking near the active work zone.
