OPEN HOUSE PUBLIC MEETING - LA 88 Realign 2 Curves in Coteau (H.010922)

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LADOTD) is conducting an open house public meeting for the re-alignment of LA 88 in Coteau, Louisiana in Iberia Parish. This re-alignment will eliminate two severe curves and construct a new roadway to facilitate larger vehicles. The re-alignment shall include intersections to connect the existing LA 88 (Coteau Road) at the beginning and end of the project.
The first section of the proposed project will be realignment on LA 88 which is approximately 0.65 miles east of the intersection of the centerline of US 90 and LA 88 and will be 1.2 miles in length. The second section of the project will be an extension of Fremin Road at its intersection with LA 88 and an east connector will be created that will align the existing LA 88 to the end of the project. The extension of this roadway will be approximately 0.094 mile in length. The total project limits will be approximately 1.294 mile.
The purpose of the meeting is to provide the public with information about the project and to obtain input from interested parties. Representatives from LADOTD will be available at the open house to answer questions and discuss issues related to the project. Verbal and written comments on the project can be submitted at the meeting. Comments can also be mailed to the LADOTD address shown below, postmarked by November 15th, 2016.
