Super Load to slow traffic in Shreveport, Caddo Parish

BOSSIER CITY, La. -- Edwards Moving and Rigging will begin moving a very tall Cold Box from The Port of Caddo-Bossier to Eastman Chemical in Longview, Texas, this Friday, July 15, at 9 a.m. The convoy will average 1 mph each day for threedays. The transporter will have one truck pulling and one truck pushing the combined weight of 539,000 lbs. This transport will have multiple utility and electric companies raising wires, along with 10-12 police officers assisting. Motoriests are encouraged to avoid the transport route. Traffic may have major delays with high congestion.
This Super Load is much like the one Edwards Moving and Rigging transported in July 2015 and will travel the same route.
Route and approximate timeline:
Friday, July 15
o 9 a.m. - Turn right from the Ron Bean Boulevard onto Highway 1 North
o 10 a.m. – Turn left on 523 / E Flournoy Lucas Road
o 11:30 a.m. – Transporter passes 3132
o 1 p.m. - Transporter passes Ellerbe Road
o 2 p.m. - Transporter crosses I-49
o 2:30 p.m. – Transporter turns right on Stevens Road
o 3:30 p.m. – Transporter parks for the night at Stevens Road and W Bert Kouns Industrial Loop
Saturday, July 16
o 5:45 a.m. – Transporter will turn left on W Bert Kouns Industrial Loop
o 7 a.m. – Transporter will pass Linwood Ave
o 7:30 a.m. – Transporter will pass Kingston Road
o 9 a.m. – Transporter will pass Willis-Knighton South Hospital
o 9:40 a.m – Transporter will pass Mansfield Road
o 11 a.m. – Transporter will pass Dean Road
o 12:30 p.m. – Transporter will turn left on GM Blvd
o 2 p.m. – Transporter will turn left on W 70th Street
o 4 p.m. – Transporter will stop 0.25 miles from Highway 79 for the evening
Sunday, July 17
o 6 a.m. – Transport will start moving again
o 6:30 a.m. – Transporter will turn left on 79/80
o 7:30 a.m. – Transporter will turn left on 79
o 10 a.m. – Transporter will cross into Texas
