DOTD announces extended closure of the Leo Kerner Bridge

JEAN LAFITTE, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces an extended closure of the Leo Kerner Bridge over Bayou Barataria for marine traffic at 9 a.m., Monday, June 27, 2016.

The bridge will be opened to allow the passage of an oversized tow/barge. It may be necessary for the bridge to remain in the open position (closed to vehicular traffic) for approximately an hour or more.

Motorists should expect delays associated with the extended closure and should adjust their travel times accordingly.
